Efficiency of Adc Linearity Estimators

چکیده
The paper presents an analysis of the statistical efficiency of the sinewave histogram test used for estimating the unknown transition levels of an analog-to-digital converter. Accordingly, at first a closed–form determination of the Cramér–Rao bound is derived under the assumption of a noiseless stimulus signal. Both unbiased and biased versions of the bound are described in order to account for the eventual bias introduced by commonly employed estimators. Then, additive Gaussian noise is assumed and comments are made about its effects on the maximum achievable accuracy.

Linearity analysis of single-ended SAR ADC with split capacitive DAC
This paper proposes the design of a 6-bit single-ended SAR ADC with a variable sampling rate at a maximum achievable speed of 50 MS/s. The SAR ADC utilizes the split capacitor array DAC with a non-conventional split-capacitor value. The influence of switches in the capacitive DAC on the ADC’s non-linearity is analysed. According to the fulfilled analysis the recommendations for switches and cap...
متن کاملLinearity Testing of Precision Analog-to-Digital Converters Using Stationary Nonlinear Inputs
As the performance of Analog-to-Digital Converters continues to improve, it is becoming more challenging and costly to develop sufficiently fast and low-drift signal generators that are adequately more linear than the ADC for the purpose of linearity testing. This work relaxes the linearity requirements on the signal generators used for ADC testing by alternatively employing multiple non-linear...
متن کاملMinimization power and non-linearity errors with split SAR ADC
This paper introduces the linearity analysis of a progressive successive approximation registers (SAR) simple toadvanced converters (ADC) with part DAC structure taking into account two exchanging techniques: conventional charge-redistribution and Vcm-based switching. The static linearity execution, in particular the fundamental nonlinearity and differential nonlinearity, and in addition the pa...
متن کاملHigh-resolution compressive channel estimation for broadband wireless communication systems
Broadband channel is often characterized by a sparse multipath channel where dominant multipath taps are widely separated in time, thereby resulting in a large delay spread. Accurate channel estimation can be done by sampling received signal with analog-to-digital converter (ADC) at Nyquist rate and then estimating all channel taps with high resolution. However, these Nyquist sampling-based met...
متن کاملADC Testing by Decomposition of the Error Model
Improvements in technology, increasing in resolution and various correction techniques of analogue-to-digital converters (ADC) makes linearity testing of ADC difficult and time-consuming task. New methods and approaches are examined. Statical and histogram tests require long time measurement and huge amount of data to be analysed. This paper deals with original approach for ADC modelling and te...
